The Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority is conducting public outreach along the Empire Builder route

Through community engagement, we’re gathering insights on how enhancing passenger rail can expand access to jobs, healthcare, and commerce, helping shape future investments that strengthen connectivity and support sustainable regional growth. Join us at one of the facilitated public meetings to share your thoughts!

This outreach effort is funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Build America Bureau under the Regional Infrastructure Accelerator (RIA) program, in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER). Together, PNWER and the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority are advancing transportation planning, community engagement, and project readiness for federal rail financing opportunities across Montana and the broader region.
