Amtrak to Bismarck a possibility in the future

While planning is in the early stages, it looks like Amtrak service could make a comeback. The line would run from Chicago to Seattle.
The Bismarck-Mandan Metro Planning Organization (MPO) has started a study to determine the benefits and challenges. “They’re going to bring benefits to our communities, such as economic development. Also, to give us a more connected regional transportation system and alternative transportation options for our residents and visitors,” said MPO Executive Director Kim Riepl.
