Greetings Fellow Passenger Rail Supporters!
Thanks for your continued support and engagement. It’s making an impact, and progress continues. Today, it’s all hands on deck! The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is in the midst of analyzing the restoration of discontinued Amtrak routes and potentially creating brand new ones. The FRA wants your thoughts and comments on this first batch of meeting materials by Friday, March 17, 2023.
Background details on the FRA Long-Distance Service Study are found here:
Meeting Materials – Amtrak Daily Long-Distance Service Study.
In your comments, please address the key questions the study must answer for Congress. Specifically,
-
Are there state or local initiatives (Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority, Front Range, other?) that could inform potential new or restored Long-Distance services?
- What previously discontinued Long-Distance services should be considered and why?
-
What new routes or communities do you want to extend Long-Distance services to and why?
- What new frequencies and service changes should be considered?
If you have any comments or questions, please submit them via the contact form on the bottom of the FRA Long-Distance Service Study homepage or to contactus@fralongdistancerailstudy.org
